Derek began his professional career in 2002 as a Multi-skilled musician, creating demos for up-and-coming local musicians in his hometown of Champaign, Illinois, along with his younger brother.
Derek has worked with Music Legend Prince (Audio Engineer at Paisley Park Studios 2013) Coolio (Music Producer) The Oxygen Channel (Music composer) and TV One, The Real Rickey Smiley show (Music Composer) just to name a few. Over the course of his career, Derek has extended his services into the education field. He has taught Music and Audio production as a college professor for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Derek continues to educate and provide Music and Audio production services both online and in person.
